The basics

Vision and mission:


Our vision is the advancement of youth in society through promotion of the values of civil society, support and encouragement for active involvement of youth in the processes and decisions of interest to them. We also want improvement of the position of minorities, achievement of equality and promotion of the richness of diversity. Our mission is to build sustainable societies based on education of citizens about human rights, democracy, the environment and life in harmony with nature.


Functioning and decision making: 


We work as platform of youth activists created to support the interest of every member and facilitate the realisation of ideas and objectives, in line with our vision and mission. Most of our members and activists (people that are not formally registered as members) are younger than 30 but as we strongly work on building knowledge based organisation for youth so we are also having experienced trainers and youth workers as part of the organisation and actively involved in projects.


We have a management board of the association that is having regular meetings on line and in person at least once in two months. Management board is made up of people elected by entire membership at our yearly sessions for all members. There is no chairperson; we divide tasks among the members based on interests and needs of organisation. Formally, we have only one person being legal representative.


Activities:


ADAE Serbia - National campaign „All different All Equal“ in the frame of European campaign
Period of realisation: June 2006 – August 2007 


Key activities and achievements: Active cooperation established between 11 youth organization from all over Serbia, forming of national campaign that organized diverse activities all over Serbia (workshops, street actions, seminars, lobby activities, hosting of international campaign committee meeting and large promotion activities during EXIT music festival). Good cooperation led to establishment of All different All equal NGO that continue since to work as cooperation platform developing new activities and programs. More than 300 volunteers participated in organizing activities.


Project was realized with support of Council of Europe Directorate of Youth and Sports, Ministry of foreign affairs of Republic of Serbia, Ministry of youth and sports of Republic of Serbia, Fond for open society and voluntary contributions by our members and activists.


ADAE Serbia: National campaign “Richness of diversity, human rights and youth activism”
Period of realisation: August 2007 – August 2008


Key activities and achievements: Further development of cooperation among youth activists that started developing common cooperation work within NGO All different All equal, establishing institutional and other NGO contacts on national and local level, capacity building training for co-management for local actors in 5 towns in Serbia, diverse public promotion activities (street workshop during day of fight against racism, richness of diversity photo competition, living library training and implementation for the youth day, basketball tournament for people with disabilities, etc.) and media promotion of the key values of our organization and campaign (promotion material, TV interviews, press conferences, presence of media at activities, etc.)


Project was realized with support of Ministry of youth and sports of Republic of Serbia and voluntary contributions by our members and activists. 


ADAE Serbia: International seminar “High school activism” in partnership with Union of high school students and OBESSU
Period of realisation: March 2009 – June 2009 (with the conference taking place from 27-31 May 2009 at Belgrade, Serbia) 


Key activities and achievements: The seminar gather 30 participants from 18 European high school organisations to learn, exchange and further develop methods for promotion of activism amongst young people, democratic processes and inclusive approach standards and discuss the role of youth parliaments and international cooperation in support of the process.


Project was realized with support of Ministry of youth and sports of Republic of Serbia and voluntary contributions by our members and activists. 


International conference “Co-management: How does it work?”
Period of realisation: April 2009 – August 2009 (with the conference taking place from 20-26 June 2009 at Palic, Serbia) 


Key activities and achievements: This project gathered together participants from 8 European countries (total number of participants 40) and produced concrete recommendations for the organisations, municipalities and governments on how to include young people in decision making processes based on equality and co-management method. 300 publications with results were printed and distributed internationally.


Project was realized with support of Council of Europe Directorate of Youth and Sports, Ministry of youth and sports of Republic of Serbia, Croatian Youth Network, Hotel “President” and voluntary contributions by our members and activists. 


International youth training „Heartening the sustainability of youth organisations in SEE“
Period of realisation: January - April 2010 (with training taking place from 25-28 March 2010)


Key activities and achievements: The training gathered 15 people from 8 regional countries that received a compact training regarding management of sustainable development, organization development and work, strategic planning and bases of green idea. The working group was formed that decided to continue developing this idea and create an educational program based on this pilot activity.


Project was realized with support of Council of Europe Directorate of Youth and Sports and Green Forum foundation Sweden.


ADAE Serbia: National campaign in high schools “In accordance with nature”
Period of realisation: February – May 2010


Key activities and achievements: Through educational material, workshops, school actions we raised among high school students level of knowledge and motivation for participants in society and contribution efforts for sustainable development. We supported the process of peer education and transfer of knowledge and created concrete action plans for the school active participation work with involvement of diverse groups in actions. 


Project was realized with support of Belgrade Municipality office for youth and Green Forum foundation Sweden.
International youth seminar “Sustainable Development and Human rights”

Period of realisation: September 2010 – January 2011 (with seminar taking place from 24-28 November 2010)
 


Key activities and achievements: This project objective was to raise the level of knowledge and motivation of participants about active participation in society and contribution efforts for sustainable development, support the process of peer education and transfer of knowledge and create concrete action plans for the community work with involvement of diverse groups in actions. Result was in establishing of partner network for support between organisation in future project, knowledge was transferred that supported the raise in quality of actions on the local level and new initiatives for cooperation arise from this event.

 

Project was realized with support of Council of Europe Directorate of Youth and Ministry of youth and sports of Republic of Serbia.


Publication work “Green pass – Knowledge for the next generation”
Period of realization: June 2011 – January 2012


Key activities and achievements: This project gathered experienced youth activists, trainers and lecturers in order to create a manul for training for the new generation of green activists. The idea was to put together most important knowledge topics and skills set presentations for someone that wants to get more active in society. This publication is a milestone in development of the training programs of our organisation in the following years in topics of green values and principles, sustainable knowledge, human rights and diversity, activism and political activism and skills in team building and communication, strategy and planning and transfer of knowledge.


Project was realized with support of Council of Europe Directorate of Youth and Ministry of youth and sports of Republic of Serbia.


International youth training “Green Pass - Sustainable learning experience”
Period of realization: June 2012 – September 2012 (with training taking place from 26-31 August 2012)


Key activities and achievements: This training gathered youth activists from all over Europe for a 6 day training in topics of green values and principles, sustainable knowledge, human rights and diversity, activism and political activism and skills development in team building and communication, strategy and planning and transfer of knowledge. This event created foundation for raise in quality of knowledge and values base for their work and enabled participants to act as leaders and multipliers in their own sphere, to create new forms of activism and gather the energy in order to make necessary changes in their society for the wellbeing in Europe.


Project was realized with support of Council of Europe Directorate of Youth, National Democratic Institute NDI, Green Forum Foundation Sweden and company Zvezdara Tours.
